What Is an FFL Transfer?
An FFL transfer is the process a federally licensed firearms dealer uses to receive a firearm from another licensed seller and complete the required transfer to an eligible buyer. As a licensed FFL dealer in Phoenix, AZ, MMP Guns helps manage the transfer process and required documentation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements. All applicable requirements must be satisfied before a firearm can be released to the buyer.
Please note that MMP Guns does not facilitate person-to-person firearm sales through our website.
Who Needs an FFL Transfer?
When you purchase a firearm online or from an out-of-state retailer, the firearm generally must be shipped to a licensed FFL dealer rather than directly to a residential address. Choosing MMP Guns as your receiving dealer gives you a trusted local partner to receive and process the shipment in accordance with applicable requirements.
Before placing your order, contact MMP Guns if you have questions about whether we can accept a particular firearm or shipment. We can help you understand our current transfer procedures and what information or documentation may be required.
How to Send Your Firearm to MMP Guns
Sending a firearm to our Phoenix facility is straightforward. Coordinate with your seller during checkout and provide MMP Guns’ information as the receiving dealer. Standard firearm shipments sent directly to us must include a photocopy of a valid driver’s license or state-issued photo ID, along with your complete contact information.
If you plan to send an NFA item or have a firearm shipped to us for custom finishing services, such as Cerakote, laser engraving, or gold plating, please contact MMP Guns before shipping. Additional requirements may apply to these items and services. We do not accept international shipments.
Before sending any package, confirm the shipping requirements with both the seller and our team to help ensure everything is properly documented and ready for processing.
What to Expect During Your FFL Transfer and Pickup
We make the FFL transfer and pickup process straightforward, with clear guidance on the required documentation, identification, and steps involved in completing your transfer in accordance with applicable firearm laws.
Firearm Receipt and Customer Notification
Upon arrival at our Phoenix shop, our team logs, inspects, and processes the shipment according to established legal standards. We will notify you promptly as soon as your package is unpacked, verified, and ready for pickup. Your firearm remains safely stored while undergoing standard processing.
